I don’t know if you have noticed – I’ve changed my hairstyle. Bye-bye catweazle-ish shag, welcome pageboy! The response was quite diverse – from ‘oh, you’ve cut your hair…….’ and ‘wow, you look so different’ to ‘I just don’t like short hair’. It was a little bit unsettling. I did get positive feedback as well though: The lovely ladies of my neighbourhood (aged between 65 and 88) were all very enthusiastic about my new style. That was even more unsettling. But at the end of the day I don’t care either way because I like that I look different. It’s so refreshing to change your style every once in a while. Peel off the old label and stick on a new one. Reinvent yourself a bit. Be unrecognisable. It feels good, try it out. It’s much worse to stick to the same well-established style for years (or decades!) and run the risk of becoming ‘fashion-lazy’ than to get a few snippy remarks.
Julia wears jeans by G-star, shirt by Kookai, vintage blazer by Guy Laroche, a 70s elastic Bogner belt from her mom, vintage boots from ebay, leather gloves (Christmas present from a friend), a tote bag by Liberty and Miu Miu sunglasses.

Als ich meine taillenlangen Haare (die ich über 10 Jahre lang immer hochgesteckt tragen musste) schließlich zu einer Cleopatra-Frisur umwandeln ließ, fragten mich mehrere (!) meiner Kollegen in vollem Ernst nach Namen und was ich denn in diesem (abgeschotteten) Stockwerk zu suchen hätte. Das war etwas irritierend, weil unerwartet, aber umso spaßiger!
