Nothing cooler than a women in men’s clothes. That’s my opinion. I know a lot of men think different – it’s definitely not a look popular with the faint-hearted male community, that’s for sure.
You don’t necessarily have to be dressed in menswear head to toe (although a men’s suit, a white shirt and a tie can be a killer look for a woman – best seen on Patti Smith, my all time favorite style icon), but a few distinctive menswear features can do. Think about stereotypical ‘macho’ menswear – trucker, lumberjack, military man – add a bit of ‘woman’ and attitude and you are good to go. Like Clara who throws in an additional pinch of punk and rebellion and a certain air of innocence and sweetness. But that’s something you can’t ‘put on’, you just have to have it.

Clara wears jeans by Zara, a T-shirt by Angels Inn, a self-made and -designed shirt, shoes by Face, socks by H+M, a beret from an army store in Berlin Kreuzberg and a self-made safety-pin-with-button earring..

Wenn man schon ein Barett trägt, dann sollte man aber schon wissen, wie man das tut, egal ob Mann oder Frau!

Lieber Bernd, danke für Dein Feedback, Ja, Clara hat sicher einen eigenen Stil, aber das ist ja das Schöne an der Mode, dass man auch Konventionen durchbricht und etwas Neues schafft. LG, Julia

Lieber Bernd,
vielleicht ist es auch Absicht? Ich z.B. trage meine Barretts beruflich anders als privat. Da trage ich sie bewusst nicht akkurat, oder aus ganz anderen Materialien und dafür ganz streng und vorschriftsmäßig. Mache ich mit Schiffchen genauso – ich nehme ein codiertes Kleidungsstücke, das in sich ein Teil eines Codes ist (Barett = Uniform), und spiele damit, um den Code aufzubrechen und in meinen eigenen Stil zu integrieren. So lässt sich dann auch der Uniformstil alltäglich tragen.
