A tattoo is an artwork on permanent display. Some are only visible when you get undressed, some are for the public. ‘What if you don’t like it anymore?’ ‘Have you REALLY thought about it?’ ‘It won’t look that good when you are old!’ ‘You can’t reverse it!’ are the usual comments when somebody talks about getting a tattoo. And I agree, you should really think about it, not do it when you are drunk or newly in love. Whereas love or alhoholic blur fade – a tattoo doesn’t. But isn’t that precisely the reason why a tattoo is so special? Doesn’t it separate the brave from the fainthearted?
I woudn’t go that far but what I like about tattoes is the commitment you make. No ‘delete’ button (except for painful laser removal). Souvenirs of certain periods of your life. Reminders of who you were and wanted to be. So you don’t forget.

Genau das beeindruckt mich an Tattoos so sehr, zieht mich so an, und lässt mich doch schon seit 15 Jahren am Motiv herumüberlegen. Denn wenn, dann wird es groß, sehr groß, rückengroß, kein kleines Probedingelchen mal zum Ausprobieren, wenn, dann muss ich da durch, weil ich es will. Aber nachdem es immer mehr gibt, die das auch haben, stehe ich – immer wieder, immer noch – vor der Entscheidung: ganz, oder gar nicht?
Übrigens finde ich Brigitta hier begeisternd bowie-esk!

Verstehe ich vollkommen, entweder muss das Motiv 100% sein oder der Moment muss der richtige sein – oder der Mensch mit dem man es zusammen macht muss ‘für immer’ sein, aber da sollte man sich tatsächlich gaaaanz sicher sein. xxxJulia
