I admit it, I’m a fan. I do like Maggie Gyllenhaal (and it’s also proof that you don’t have to be over 70 years old to get a place amongst my style icons). The moment I fell in love was when I watched ‘Mona Lisa Smile’. She played this cool and independent girl , smoking, drinking, having fun….I know it sounds klischee and I spare you the rest of the story, but that did it for me. Of course, I know she is an actress and she played a role, but all that sensitivity, sexiness and coolness couldn’t be fake. And now I am coming to the point: Have you ever seen Maggie Gyllenhaal on the red carpet? She IS cool. I love the way she dresses – her vintage-indie-bohemian-sometimes-a-little-weird-style, her not-mainstream-hairstyles. Admittedly, every once in a while she gets a little carried away stylewise, but who hasn’t? Makes her even more adorable, that she is not afraid of taking risks and showing her personality. But that’s what personal style is about. Not seeking for perfection but embracing who you are.

New to your wonderful blog. So pleased you class Maggie G as an icon. I have thought this for a long time and no-one seemed to understand!

Thank you, I think she is quite unique. xxx
