Another great portrait of Zandra Rhodes shot by my friend
Dominik (thank you!) at her her house. To me she seems like
an exotic flower with the sole purpose of bringing color and
beauty into our world. You have to admit that even if hers is
not your style at all and you are actually more of a purist , that
there is something so special, uncompromising and coherent
to her style that you just have to admire her. ‘Zandraworld’ is
filled with art-, design- and fashion-objects, color and various
images of herself, an inspiring univers that shows that what
she does is not just a profession, but a passion that she lives to
the full. Designing the legendary Queen costumes, creating
a jewellery line, doing costumes for the opera, opening a
fashion museum, she never stops – a style icon and role
model whose simple advice to us is: ‘Always surround yourself
with people who love their work and work hard, so you keep
your surroundings inspirational’.
