Winter, snow and ice have finally arrived. It’s a tough time for fashion lovers. All the easiness is gone, you have to protect yourself from harsh weather conditions, make sure you wear something…..practical. How I detest this word. It’s a synonyme for those feminine puffer jackets and coats that a woman cannot seem to escape. They usually come in muddy brown, black or grey along with a fur trimmed hood. Sometimes they sport little belts around the waist to make sure you are not mistaken for a man. I once accidentally ended up in the ‘women’s outerwear’ area of a big department store. It was like entering the cabinet of horror. A sea of boredom, so uninspiring, that I was about to lose faith in fashion. I know they are warm and cozy and PRACTICAL, but please, women out there, if you are reading this, do me a favour, buy at least a fun one. Some color! Or an oversized one (believe me, no one will confuse you with a man just because you don’t wear a tiny belt over your duvet), or for god’s sake, get a big woollen coat and do some layering underneath, it’s the most simple and stylish way to keep yourself warm in the cold. Look at Clara, all snug and warm in her self-made coat, cleverly adding a dash of neon color with her fashionable, yet still PRACTICAL Doc Martens and the fancy pink shirt that peaks out under her cozy jumper. That’s the way to do it – if you don’t happen to live on the north pole.

Clara wears a self-made coat, H+M jeans, a jumper by Cos, a vintage blouse from her roommate’s mum, a scarf found on the street, a Carhartt hat, pink Doc Martens, the small ring is from her great-grandmother, the bigger ring is from her best friend’s grandmother.

Woah, ein selbstgenähter Mantel! Bewunderung.
